We are partnering with the Antique Barbed Wire Society to host a barbed wire expo at Northern Illinois University’s Altgeld Hall. Check out extensive barbed wire collections, history demos, and mingle with local historians and barbed wire collectors from across the nation! Beginning and ending in Downtown DeKalb, the route will take runners through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, through NIU’s campus and Huskie Stadium and ending in Van Buer Plaza with a Post Race Celebration! On Course Entertainment includes the Black Tie Jazz Trio, NIU's Huskie Marching Band, Banda, and Steelband! Our roots run strong and we look forward to gathering for the 44th DeKalb Corn Classic!
The Taste of DeKalb is a fundraising event hosted by the Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary and includes a variety of food truck options, family friendly activities and live entertainment. Proceeds raised through sponsorships go towards an annual Community Grant for Children, Youth and Families of DeKalb County. There is no admission fee to attend the event but patrons will purchase their own food and drink items directly from the food trucks/vendors. This year’s bands include InFunktious and the Prissillas.
