Parents, are you in need of a few extra hours to finish up Christmas Shopping or wrapping presents without the kids around? On Friday, December 15th from 6:00-8:00pm the Kishwaukee Family YMCA will be hosting a Parents’ Night Out at the YMCA for ages 5-14. Family Fun Science: STEM Gingerbread Houses

It’s the holiday season and a perfect time to build a gingerbread house with the family! Join us for our fifth annual STEM Gingerbread House Family Fun Science. We’ll have the supplies to build—graham crackers, frosting, and candy. Bring your creative ideas! At the end, we’ll have a friendly competition for Best House and the winner will get a $5 Target gift card. There is a limit of 30 children. Snow Glow Family Dance Party

This is the most fun you’ll have with your family this holiday season! Dimensions Ballroom will transform into a black lit winter wonderland on Saturday, December 16th from 7:00-8:30pm. Elf Fest & Indoor Movie

Travel through the “seven layers of the candy cane forest, past the sea of twirly-swirly gumdrops,” and enter the world of Elf and the North Pole right here in DeKalb! Festivities await during a night of Elf-themed games, activities, light snacks, and refreshments. Don’t be an angry elf- sign up today! Reptile Show: Cold-Blooded Creatures

Delve into the fascinating world of exotic animals from across the globe with our reptile show put on by Cold-Blooded Parties as we aim to educate and inspire the community.   You’ll see a diverse array of reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates as we bring captivating creatures to you.  From majestic snakes to formidable lizards and even an American alligator, each encounter promises an unforgettable experience. Learn about these remarkable creatures, gaining a deeper understanding of their habitats, behaviors, and importance to our ecosystem.  And as a special treat, all children will have the opportunity to touch the snake before they leave, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Join us for an adventure that promises excitement, education, and a newfound appreciation for the incredible world of cold-blooded creatures! This program is free and requires no registration.  While all ages are welcome to attend, it is recommended for children aged 5 and older.
