Join us in the “Barb City” as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Joseph F. Glidden’s “The Winner” barbed wire patent, which fenced the West and put DeKalb on the map. We are partnering with the Antique Barbed Wire Society to host a barbed wire expo at Northern Illinois University’s Altgeld Hall. Check out extensive barbed wire collections, history demos, and mingle with local historians and barbed wire collectors from across the nation! Come see #DeKalbLife’s table at the expo in Altgeld Hall! Hosted by the J.F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center

Beginning and ending in Downtown DeKalb, the route will take runners through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, through NIU’s campus and Huskie Stadium and ending in Van Buer Plaza with a Post Race Celebration! On Course Entertainment includes the Black Tie Jazz Trio, NIU's Huskie Marching Band, Banda, and Steelband! Our roots run strong and we look forward to gathering for the 44th DeKalb Corn Classic!
