Opened in 1929, the Egyptian Theatre is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is named one of the Top 20 Architectural Treasures in the State of Illinois. Once one of over one hundred Egyptian Theatres in the country, today it is one of only seven remaining in the US and is the only one east of the Rocky Mountains.
